There's rarely a scenario that warrants more than a carry-on for me. The only exception was when my family stayed somewhere for 3+ weeks and we did check a larger suitcase, but we were also staying in one place the whole time. I wouldn't do it with multiple cities on the itinerary!
You totally don't need to dry clean merino wool! (or cashmere, for that matter). The pieces can be thrown in the delicate cycle, yes, but you can also handwash your merino on trips with a little castile soap or even your own shampoo/body wash bar. I wrote about my love affair with merino recently and I am happy to shout it to the heavens.
Yes 100%! I updated the post since I did mention a delicate cycle but it wasn't as prominent as dry cleaning. Glad to hear you love it too! I'm such a fan now.
Nicole, it was so much fun clicking through on all the great links you provided! I envy the plethora of choice you Americans have. As you may know, here in Canada we are boycotting most American products (you can thank DT for that) as a show of patriotism and also because tariffs, ugh. But you’ve given me lots to explore on the internet.
Ugh, I know! Glad you enjoyed the post anyway—I'm sure there are lots of great Canadian brands making similar products, so this can give you an idea of what to look for.
I really loved reading this list! So much inspiration and sites to bookmark. Thank you for sharing!
I'm huge on carry-on only life. My friends and family think I'm crazy.

Same! Although my next trip will be around 4-5 months so I'll have to cave.
That sounds reasonable for such a long trip. ;)
